A big thank you to volunteers Anna, Tania, Phil and Chris for joining Gemma for a community litter pick in Sheerness this morning, during which they collected 18kg of litter. This initiative not only helped to improve the local environment but also raised awareness about the importance of keeping public spaces clean and free from waste. By coming together for this common cause, the volunteers demonstrated the power of community action and the positive changes that can result from teamwork and dedication.
The volunteers met at 31 Broadway in Sheerness. Sheppey Matters’ new location, and worked their way up to Beachfields car park to the Swimming pool, back along the Broadway up to the Town Clock, finishing at Trinity Place car park and back to base for a well earned cuppa.
It was a lovely sunny day and it was great to see the Spring bulbs, planted by another group of volunteers at the end of last year, emerging in the planters along the way.
All in all, a productive morning!! Dates for the next picks in February will be published soon for anyone who would like to join us.
