Members of the Rotary Club of Minster-on-Sea and staff of Sheppey Matters met last Saturday to officially launch their new Community Minibus for the Isle of Sheppey. The many local charity fund raising events that the Rotary Club organises, including the annual Beer Festival, has enabled the club to raise £7,500 towards the minibus. A KCC Members Grant of £9,000 provided by Adrian Crowther, enabled Sheppey Matters to provide the much needed transport for the Blackburn Lodge Day Centre users. However, the minibus will also be available for other community groups to use. The fully operational tail lift will offer access for 11 passengers with adapted space for wheelchairs- Sheppey Matters would welcome to hear from anyone wishing to volunteer as a driver or to hire the bus, so please contact Becky on 01795 585335.
